What Our Readers Are Saying

Amazon

★★★★★ A good story for kids, esp. girls who have to change schools because of their parent's job. Tweens and teens will easily relate to the conflicts, experiences, and feelings, that Chloe must resolve in the book.
Dr. Kathleen M. Favaloro, DC, PT

★★★★★ Provides a realistic portrayal of the challenges faced by military families and how children like Chloe learn to adapt. With insights from the author’s military experience, it delivers an emotional connection that helps readers understand frequent relocations.

It is a cute story to show military kids that they are not alone. I would recommend it to military parents with elementary-aged children preparing for their first move or middle grade readers preparing to PCS. I’d also recommend it to civilian children who have military brat friends, to better understand their lifestyle and hardships.

As a pediatrician, her heart is in helping children. The Cul-de-sac Kids series is a collection of chapter books following Chloe, a tween military brat, and her friends as they navigate the ups and downs of military life. Through their stories, Amanda reminds military kids that they are not alone and that they have the strength to face life’s unique challenges with resilience, connection, and hope.

Meet Chole and the
Cul De Sac Kids

Chloe, Austin, Ella, Missy, and Kaleb all live on the same cul-de-sac in Clarksville, Tennessee. Their friendship grew from adventures at the creek behind their neighborhood and countless gatherings in Austin’s treehouse. Chloe and Ella are proud Army brats, Missy’s dad is retired from the Army, and Kaleb and Austin have no military ties at all—just like kids in many military towns across America.
